Nursery

Nurturing the Faith of the Next Generation

To provide an environment of safety, love and respect where the child learns about the love of God and the importance of Scripture; the parent feels respected, loved and feels that their child is loved and well cared for; and the volunteers and staff feel valued and supported as a part of a ministry team that is serving our young families.

Children: Birth to 3-Years-Old

The nursery facility cares for children birth to 3-years-old (birthdate before September 1st and potty trained move up in the Fall).

We have two toddler rooms and a baby room for children under one and non-walkers. We also have a nursing room across the hall from the nursery for nursing mothers. The service is broadcast over a television for the nursing mothers in that room.

Spiritual

The Sunday routine is to read a Bible story to the toddlers, play and sing songs about Jesus, and pray before snack and after reading the Bible story.

Safety

The nursery staff cleans all the rooms after the service, and a custodian cleans the facilities each week.

Two workers attend the children in each room. Some workers are volunteers and some are paid. All workers have been through a background check, child abuse prevention course, and have agreed to nursery policies before working with the children. Paid staff have extra training and responsibilities, and their faces become most familiar to the children as they usually work the same service and have more time in nursery each month.

Parents check their child(ren) in at the iPad kiosk. One printed sticker goes on the back of the child’s clothing, and parents keep the other sticker to give the staff when retrieving child(ren) from the nursery. This step is a vital part of our security to clarify who is allowed to pick up the child(ren). If someone else needs to pick up your child, please make sure to tell the staff at check-in and also to get the sticker or a picture of the sticker to the approved pick-up person.

Each sticker has the date and a random code so that old stickers cannot be used for check-out.

Only adults (not older siblings) may check-out children from the nursery.

If you have any questions or concerns about the nursery, please call the nursery director, Jennifer Snow at 419-980-0891.
